Social Media and a Calgary Flower Store

By Stuart Crawford | February 5, 2010

Southeast Calgary Flower Store starts new blog to help guys prepare for Valentine’s Day

Velda Paynter like many Calgary entrepreneurs took a huge step from being a business owner who simply has a website to a business that owns her own web marketing and web strategy. There are so many small business owners who still haven’t really taken that critical first step to becoming a website owner and helping the community.  Sure, many Calgary businesses have a website, but it is more like a billboard in the middle of deserted highway. The question which needs asking is how many actually get business from their website and how many have a web presence which allows them to have a voice in the community?

Why is Velda’s story unique?

One of things excites us at Ulistic is the smile small business owners get on their face when they see their new website up and running. Even more is when they just show up on Google for the first time and especially when that first phone call comes in from the web. It is great to have such a positive impact on our Calgary business community and helping entrepreneurs go to market.

Velda launched her Calgary Flower Store blog this week and she has started to promote and talk about Valentine’s Day and how people (especially guys) can make sure we do not end up in the dog house by forgetting to get something special for our spouses, girlfriends and even those others we hold special.  So don’t forget to get your Valentine’s Day flowers this year. Velda is taking a very proactive approach this year by setting up to a site to help those looking for that special something during the season of love, she is totally on board with the social media in Calgary approach to doing business.

Congrats Velda for taking that ever so important step to becoming a website owner.

Thanks Velda for the LinkedIn recommendation as well.

“I have recently met Stuart and his business partner, David West at Ulistic. They specialize in search engine optimization and social media consulting and training. They came highly recommended and I feel very confident that they are the right group to help make my floral business, Velda’s Grower Direct Fresh Cut Flowers, part of the social networking community here in Calgary.” February 3, 2010
